Glow in the Dark Dream Necklace (Inspired by The BFG)

I finished another book from my list: The BFG by Roald Dahl.
If you are not familiar with this book, its a children's story about a giant called the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) that collects dreams in glass jars and stores them on shelves in his cave.  Every night, he sneaks around London with a briefcase full of jars.  At each window, he stops to remove a dream, put it in his trumpet, and quietly blow it into the room of sleeping boys and girls.

Tea Cup Candles ~ Mother's Day Gift

Whenever I give someone a handmade gift, I always deal with a little fear that the receiver will think I'm just cheap.  Now, I don't want to sound conceited, but I am good at making things, and I even have a college degree in it.  Of course, that doesn't mean much when someone opens a box from me and says, "Oh, great...you made this.  What is it made out of, did you say trash?  Gee...thanks, I feel so....special."

Secret Hide-away Box

The scene: A museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Someone has stolen rare and precious artifacts from a jewelry exhibit.  Detectives believe that after the heist, thieves may have stowed away the treasures somewhere in the desk of this office space.   Can you find their secret hiding place?
I'll give you a hint: You'll get a hoot out of this hiding spot.

Domes of Curiosity (DIY)

Recently, I found the website www.wisteria.com, and fell in love with it.  My favorite category is the Rare Bird section filled with stunning  one-of-a-kind antiques and treasures.  It was here that I discovered the Domes of Curiosity.  The original versions, cased in thick glass and artfully arranged, are priced between $900 and $1,500.  Of course, they are full of beautiful and rare objects, but if you want a much less expensive version, you can make several of  these little versions for under $15.
